A1 - Making Upstream Change: Building Skills for Policy Development, Implementation, and Evaluation through AMCHP’s Policy Essential Series
Sunday, April 14, 2024
11:45 AM – 12:45 PM PT
Location: Grand Ballroom ABC
Leading public health organizations and MCH practitioners recognize that possessing policy skills is an essential competency for the MCH workforce. However, many MCH practitioners report not having the policy skills needed to perform their roles. To address this need, AMCHP developed the “Policy Essential Series”, a skills building curriculum designed to provide MCH professionals with skills to engage in policy development, implementation, and evaluation. This session will introduce two modules in the Policy Essential Series, build attendees understanding of the MCH policy process and landscape, present a local example of what policy change looks like in practice, and engage attendees in reflection and discussion.
