Monday, April 15, 2024
11:00 AM – 12:00 PM PT
Location: Grand Ballroom FGH
RH Impact and lived experience experts are working together to develop a Respectful Maternity Care tool that measures respect and disrespect during childbirth in U.S. hospitals. The goal of the measure is to earn the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality’s Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems trademark to achieve the goal of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services requiring the respectful maternity care measurement tool in hospitals. RH Impact collaborated with a Birth Equity Stakeholder Advisory Board to conduct focus groups nationwide with birthing people who represent multiple racial and ethnic groups, languages, genders, and sexualities to inform the survey constructs. These constructs identify the attributes of respectful maternity care.
