Ness Verigin, MPA, MPA, BSW (they/them) is Public Health Specialist with the State of Alaska who serves as program manager for the Alaska Maternal Child Death Review Program and Alaska Title V Block Grant Coordinator. Ness is Project Director for several federal grants, including two pertaining to maternal mortality review and prevention. Prior to practicing in public health, Ness worked in law enforcement and child welfare roles specializing in child forensic interviewing, death investigation, interpersonal violence intervention including strangulation identification and response, and trauma-informed approaches to workforce development and leadership. Ness enjoys hiking the Chugach Mountains in their Alaskan back yard with their partner and two sweet and fluffy Great Pyrenees dogs.
