The Moms Do Care Program (MDC) consists of 11 co-located medical and behavioral health teams providing trauma-informed, recovery oriented primary and obstetrical health care, substance use disorder recovery services, parenting support, and case management to pregnant, postpartum, and parenting people and their families impacted by substance use disorders (SUDs). By partnering with and enhancing the capacities of medical, SUD, and behavioral health providers along the perinatal continuum of care, and by leveraging the expertise of perinatal recovery coaches, MDC establishes/enriches webs of regional support for families impacted by SUD. The MDC model is noteworthy to those building peer led, integrated models of health care and perinatal SUD services to families and their providers.
